Suitcases with similar shapes and colors can be difficult to find when a group's luggage is gathered together. Clear labels help pilgrims and coordinators identify belongings more systematically at handover points.
Choose markers that are durable, readable, and securely attached. A pilgrim number or group code can be matched against an internal list. Avoid displaying sensitive information such as passport numbers or copies of travel documents on the outside of a suitcase.
Keep a photograph of the suitcase and its identifying markers to help describe it if necessary. Additional markers such as ribbons can be used as long as they do not interfere with the wheels, handles, or closure.
Before leaving the collection point, match the label and suitcase features against your own records. If an item has been swapped or cannot be found, inform the staff and coordinator so it can be traced through the appropriate process.
